GenCon Schedule 2013
Aug. 6th, 2013 06:43 pmSo, I'm super packed, because I'm insane and decided I really wanted to LARP a lot. Most of these games have slots open, so, here's my schedule!
Arrive Wednesday, 8/14 at 2pm. With luggage and a taxi to the JW, I'll probably poke my head up around 2:30-3, nothing planned on Wednesday. This is the perfect day for casual socialization!
Thursday:
11am: Auxilium Terra, a Werewolf RPG. (I love Werewolf: The Apocalypse.) No tickets available, but no-shows are common at GenCon.
5pm: The Team, a LARP by a group I liked last year. 1 ticket available! And last year there were no-shows.
Friday:
2pm: Ravnica/Return to Ravnica sealed Magic event. A booster from the three recent Return to Ravnica sets, and from the 2006 original Ravnica sets. Should be fun! Tickets still available!
6pm: Werewolf LARP, Nobody Messes with Family. This game is not proving popular, there's a chance it might not fire, but if it does, small might be fun? If I'm free early, I'm not worried.
Saturday:
2pm, Valkyrie Dying, BSG LARP. This is very popular and sold out instantly, the least likely game for someone else to jump in, but big LARPs sometimes have no-shows, so show up and maybe it'll work out?
8pm: Modern Masters sealed Magic event. Modern Masters is insanely popular and fun, no tickets available and unlikely to open up.
Sunday:
Noon: Red Star Rising, Pern LARP. I have a soft spot for Pern, and there's not a ton scheduled on Sunday, so why not? Slots open still. If I get exhausted, I might /be/ a no-show, but I'm hoping not.
Flight leaves at 7:27 pm. I'll leave the convention center, mmm, shortly after 4 when the Pern game finishes, exhausted after all this massive fun! See you next year!
Bonus question: Some of my meal slots are tight, and lines at GenCon can be long. Any suggestions for meal-substitute snacks that don't need refrigeration and are light and portable? Granola bars, Beef jerky, that sort of thing.
